Ancestral guidance through the Dagara tradition
Stick divination is an ancient shamanic technology originating in Burkina Faso, West Africa. It is a spiritual and cosmological practice, a way of opening a channel between you, your ancestors, and the elemental beings devoted to us and to this Earth.
What happens in a divination is relational. The spirits and ancestors speak through the diviner, and what comes back to you is not just information. It is medicine.
I work with the Wedeme spirits, the spirits of the wild, who speak through the sticks and through me. The divination reveals what's blocking your path, what your ancestors are asking of you, and what medicine is being called for. You'll receive ritual prescriptions: concrete actions and offerings that help the insight take root in your life, not just your understanding. These rituals are meant to be completed within 3 to 4 weeks while the divination energy is still actively working with you.
This is not therapy. It is spiritual guidance from the unseen world.
My training and lineage
I have been in ongoing mentorship with Dr. María Hetényi in the Dagara lineage since September 2023. I completed her GRACE: Shame Release and Ancestral Healing Retreat (March 2024) and The Phoenix Process: Sacred Art of Grief Tending (December 2023). I completed my merging ceremony in February 2026 and am initiated in stick divination, working with the Wedeme medicine and in ongoing relationship with my Elders.
I entered this work slowly, carefully, and with deep respect for the lineage. I offer it now with their blessing.
What a Divination Session Includes
We create sacred space together. I throw the divination tools and translate what the ancestors and spirits are communicating. We may explore:
Questions you're holding: what do you need to know right now?
Ancestral guidance: what are your ancestors asking you to see, release, or step into?
Spiritual blockages: what's in the way of your path?
Ritual prescriptions: what offerings or practices are being called for?
Elemental medicine: what element is asking to work with you?
To Prepare: Bring a quarter or coin. Speak your 1 to 3 questions into it beforehand and let it hold your intention. You can sleep with it under your pillow the night before to deepen the connection. Create a quiet, comfortable space for yourself. Bring tea, water, whatever helps you settle and receive.
Sessions run 60 to 75 minutes.
Standalone or blended
Divination can be a standalone session for those seeking ancestral guidance on a specific question or threshold. Or it can be woven into ongoing spiritual consultation or astrology coaching work when the spirits call for it.
